The electroplated diamond tool has high bonding strength, high grinding efficiency, small shape error and easy maintenance. The application field is wide and the cost is low. The basic process flow includes:
Preparation Process 1: Selection of Diamond
The basic requirements include:
1. Appearance characteristics: Pure diamond should be colorless and transparent (in fact, it often develops due to impurities and defects). Synthetic diamonds were observed under a metallographic microscope as octahedrons, rhombohedral dodecahedrons, cubes and aggregates thereof. It is often yellow-green, with more impurities and grayish green, and boron-containing diamonds are black.
2, the use of performance: according to JB2808-79 standard, diamond is divided into JR1, JR2, JR, JR4 four models. The higher the number, the higher the hardness, the better the quality, the more expensive the price, but the better the performance. Although JR4 diamond has the highest hardness, it is not as sharp as JR3 diamond. If the two are mixed, it can maintain good performance and reduce production costs.
Process 2: Diamond removal
Magnetic impurities: Synthetic diamonds generally have magnetic properties because they contain magnetic inclusions (catalyst metals). The higher the inclusion content, the stronger the magnetic properties. The magnetically strong diamond not only has many impurities, low strength, and poor heat resistance, but also has an adverse effect on the plating quality, and is easy to form a nickel tumor, so it is difficult to select. The reason is that the magnetic inclusion is a good conductor, which deteriorates the insulation of the diamond particles and exhibits a weak electrical conductivity. Thus, under the action of the power line clip end effect, the metallic nickel is preferentially plated on the diamond clip end which is higher than the plating layer to form a nickel knob. In order to avoid the influence of magnetic impurities, the diamond should be magnetically selected before use, preferably on a dedicated magnetic separator, or a magnet can be used to remove particles with stronger magnetic properties. Once the diamond is found to be magnetic, all diamonds should be returned.
Adsorption of impurities: Diamond is not pure, its surface is always a layer of adsorbed impurities. If it is not removed before plating, the diamond particles will float on the surface of the electrolyte and cannot be deposited on the substrate. Therefore, the diamond must be treated by affinity (wet) before use.
Process 3: Electrolyte heating
Since the electrolyte is not heated at a high temperature (< 50°), it is usually heated in a water bath, and the plating vessel is placed in a water bath of the worktop. The heating may be a titanium alloy heating tube or a water heater, the former being placed in a water bath and the latter being passed into a water bath. The electric heating tube can be equipped with a temperature control device. The principle is to control the electric actuator (DJ-702 type) to control the electric heating main circuit in the main circuit, that is, the contactor JC, make it closed (or open), thus turning on (or cutting off) the heating power, to achieve automatic temperature control the goal of.
Process 4: Plating
In the plating bath, the plated member immersed in the plating solution is connected to the negative electrode of the DC power source (constituting the cathode), and the metal to be plated is connected to the positive electrode of the DC power source (constituting the anode), and the plating solution in the plating tank contains The ions of the plated metal, after the power is turned on, the metal ions in the plating solution are deposited on the cathode to form a plating layer. As shown below:
Basic conditions for electroplating clean production:
At present, most of the factories of electroplated diamond tools manufacturers are relatively simple, the production conditions are poor, and environmental protection is not emphasized, causing environmental pollution and affecting product quality. In order to achieve clean production and improve the quality of products, comprehensive management must be achieved.
Electroplated diamond tool manufacturing process 2
When choosing the address of the plating shop, pay full attention to the impact of the plating shop on the surrounding environment. The electroplating workshop should be located in a place with fresh air and good convection to ensure the natural ventilation and lighting of the workshop. At the same time, it is also necessary to prevent the surrounding environment from polluting the workshop, so as to prevent external dust from blowing into the workshop and falling into the plating tank when the window is opened.
Comprehensive governance:
1 Overall exhaust: In order to maintain good ventilation in the workshop, the overall mechanical ventilation should be used as an auxiliary means, and the exhaust air should be exhausted from the upper part of the room by the exhaust fan. The air volume discharged should also be compensated by the fresh air sent by the air supply system.
2 Local exhaust: In order to control the diffusion of harmful gases, to prevent indoor air pollution, local exhaust facilities should be provided in the parts where harmful gases are generated. The outdoor exhaust vents should be 1.5 to 2 m above the roof façade.
3 Closed exhaust: Deplating the workpiece and pickling the diamond will produce thick yellow smoke, which is polluted and harmful to the human body. Must be carried out in a fume hood for a strong enclosed exhaust.
Strict hygiene:
1 Operators enter the electroplating workshop to wear overalls, change work shoes, and prohibit non-workers from entering the workshop casually.
2 After daily work, carefully clean the operation site; regularly clean the workshop equipment and plating containers, auxiliary equipment, etc., remove dust and salt crystals, keep the equipment clean and normal (especially conductive parts).
3 When the plating equipment is deactivated, cover and cover (especially plating tank and sand container), keep it clean.
4 Workshops are prohibited from stacking non-production debris to reduce dust sources.
